Today is my birthday. Drake dropped new music. Not doing anything or seeing anyone. Said happy birthday to myself in the mirror and made a special cup of coffee. Smoked. I don’t have any other plans of celebrating. Two hundred new Coronavirus related deaths in NYC . 2600 new confirmed cases. Mayor de Blaiso said, “the virus is alive and well in the city. We have not beaten it”. The United States leads in global recovery cases.

5/6
232 New Yorkers died yesterday to #Coronavirus. Pandemic is not over.

5/8
20 million jobs are estimated to be lost due to the pandemic. Economic collapse looks like it’s right here. States reopening . President wants economy running again and to open businesses again.

Killers of Ahmaud Arbery finally arrested and convicted after being home for three months. White supremacist father and son killed Arbery in Georgia by ambushing him while he was jogging. They rode up in a pick up truck , blocked Arbery and fired a shotgun and .357 magnum. Arbery was unarmed and out for a jog. He was shot dead after a scuffle. It’s not right. Watching the video of the violent encounter made me feel bad.#blacklivesmatter. The two murderers need to be charged with a hate crime.

Covid-19 has been deadly for black people in this country. Today the governor tweeted testing sites will be set up in low income communities. 226 people died of Covid related illness in NYC. The numbers are dropping. The city should have done something sooner for low income communities, but instead in New York those arrested for social distance violations were majority black.

5/13
NYC -166 New Yorker's died of COVID-19 related illness .

NYPD will no longer make arrests for not wearing a face covering.

From Police statement:

“Moving forward, however, we will no longer issue summonses or make arrests for infractions related to face coverings — absent of a crime or other violation being committed.”

5/23
84 people died in New York state from the Coronavirus on Friday — the least number of deaths since late March.
People can go outside again, go to the beach, park, but have to maintain six feet distance.

I’ve been trying to remain under stimulated. Avoiding that third and fourth cup of coffee. Avoiding nicotine. Keeping it simple. Eating. Sleeping. Staying indoors. Drinking more water. Trying to remain stress free by watching Netflix.

5/27
Death toll passes 100000 in NYC. NYC is no longer the epicenter. Total deaths in NYC is 16410. The sun was out today. Temps reached 70. Scrolling thru social media posts and protest are happening all over the country. People are angry. George Floyd, an African American man was killed in the street while handcuffed by police in Minneapolis.

The viral video spreading online shows Floyd arrested and handcuffed on the ground with a white police officer’s knee on top of his neck.

5/30
I walked into my local deli in The Bronx wearing my face mask and some idiot said, “people still believe in the Coronavirus”. I have no respect for people who downplay climate change or the Covid Pandemic. I have no respect for people who spread disinformation. Trump does it. It's not okay.

5/31
NYC — — Total Cornavirus deaths 29918
USA — Total Coronavirus deaths 106195
NYC eyeing June 8th as reopen date.
Mass protest still raging in the city. Brooklyn, Jackson heights, Queens, Harlem, and Manhattan (Bryant Park today)

Black Lives Matter!!!! George Floyd didn't deserve to die in the street.

Cities across America take part in mass protests including NYC, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Salt Lake City, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Oakland, Chicago, Newark, Washington DC, Atlanta.
There has been reports of looting and arson. I’ve seen videos of people flipping police cars over.

Killer officer has been arrested and charged with third degree murder.

People are pissed. We demand Justice for George Floyd.

6/1
#NYC curfew is set at 11 pm because of the protests. Homeless people and essential workers are exempt from the law. Governor Cuomo says, “more importantly there is going to be an increase in the force in NYC”.

The number of police on duty tonight will double from 4000 to 8000. Downtown Manhattan and uptown have been completely looted.

6/2
Curfew set for 8 pm to 5 am in the city today.

6/3
Coronavirus is clinically wiped out in Italy. Listening to Bob Marley today.
