Michael Rosenfeld Gallery in New York organized a monumental new show of portraits and abstract paintings by forgotten Black artist, Beauford Delaney. Delaney was a really fascinating man. He suffered and left behind a beautiful legacy. He’s America’s Vincent van Gogh. A real deal tragic hero artist. But unlike Pollock, or Van Gogh, Delaney doesn't have a real masterpiece to make him a well known name to younger generations.
Massimo De Carlo in Paris organized a show of new paintings by New York artist Nate Lowman.
Along with Dan Colen and Dash Snow, Lowman and friends were dubbed by NYMAG as “Warhol’s children”. The main painting on view, titled, “Frankenstein Vesuvio” is an homage to Warhol, who also painted the historic volcano.
