100 drawings from now, as the title suggests is an urgent showcase by both emerging and established artists. The creative response is a strong message. This year has been devastating. The pandemic exposed our fragile government. Covid 19 numbers are still spiking everyday in the United States.

I booked my visit in advance. I strolled the lower gallery with another anonymous visitor. I walked around and after a brief look went around again to snap photos on my phone.

What’s on the mind of isolated people in economic crisis, confronting systemic racism, police violence, a global killer virus?? A few drawings are spot on. I like Francesco Clemente’s drawing, 5–22–2020, maybe because at the moment it felt religious.

Katherine Bernhardt, Untitled, 2020, Acrylic and watercolor on paper, 24 x 18
Elliott Jamal Robbins, Meditation on ambition, 2020, Watercolor and moth on paper, 17 x 14
Aline Kominsky-Crumb, Why can’t I be like Peggy, 2020, Ink and watercolor on paper, 13 x10
Simon Evans, Insecurity Card, 2020, paper, pen, and tape, 2 1/8 x 3 3/8
Michael Armitage, Study for curfew, Ink on paper, 12 1/4 x 9 1/4
Larissa De Jesus Negron, Watching it burn, 2020, Acrylic, Color Pencil, Nail Polish on paper, 15x12

I loved everything offered, but for me the exhibition appeared as clutter and not great work coming from the experience and concern for the future.
